He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Hammer and Katherine Hammer (Kane); and his brother David Richard Hammer. He is survived by: his wife Carol Hammer (Powell) of Monterey; his children, Melissa Consolini (David) of Sheffield and Robert Hammer Jr. (Donna) of Great Barrington; his siblings-in-law, Warren Powell of Rockledge, FL, Francis "Sonny" Tarnawa of Housatonic, Roselie O'Brien, Tina Tarnawa and Betty Budz of Housatonic; his grandchildren, Morgan, Brandon Hammer, Anthony and Andrew Consolini; and his great grandchild Emmalynn Hammer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Robert's memory can be made to either the Great Barrington Fire Association or the Great Barrington Police Association in care of the funeral home.
