He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter A. Simpson and Leah Simpson (Horgan); his former wife Martha; his brothers, Richard Simpson (Lucille) and Dr. Robert Simpson (Ruth); and his brothers-in-law, Col Parker and Steven Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peg" Simpson of Lynn; his son Timothy Simpson (Cheryl) of North Andover; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Kaitlin and Ryan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations could be made to First Church in Swampscott Congregational, Camp Rotary or the Compassionate Care Hospice organization.
