She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alvin L. Awtrey and Orrie Frick Awtrey; her husband William Hamson (Bill) of Needham Heights; her brothers, Alvin L. Awtrey Jr. and John M. Awtrey; her children, Carol Whittaker of Irmo, Virginia Hamson of Lexington, Marilyn Bellmann (David Burns) of Charlotte, NC, Barbara Kinney of Moore, SC and David Hamson (Nancy) of Eutawville, SC; her sister Judith Harris (Clyde) of Chapin; and her sister-in-law Janet Awtrey of Pinson, Alabama.. She was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
