He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Lindsay Martin (Ruhlmann); his children, Isabelle and Graham Martin; his parents, Leo Martin and Joan Martin (Donahue) of Watertown; his siblings, Benjamin Martin (Brette) of Bethesda, Joseph Martin and Anne Weiss of Boston; and his nieces and nephews, Grace, Owen, Avery, Caroline, Bo and Zoey. He was also cherished by his parents, chose his brothers as some of his closest friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home (1305 Highland Ave, Needham, MA 02492). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Church (28 Commonwealth Ave, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund in gratitude for the extraordinary care Austin received at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which allowed him to live so fully throughout his illness.
