With sadness, we share the passing of John Harold Hasenfus of Needham, Massachusetts. John, born on June 23, 1926, passed away on October 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Hasenfus and Augusta Hasenfus (Clouten); his spouse Shirley Hasenfus (Rayner); his children, Richard Hasenfus (Laura), Wendy Towler (Richard) and Kenneth Hasenfus (Lily); his grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Caitlin Hasenfus; and his children, Michael Wan, Christopher, Amanda Towler, EmmaJane and Timothy Hasenfus.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Eaton Funeral Home (1351 Highland Ave, Needham, MA 02492).
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Needham Golf Club Charities (needhamgolfclub.com/en/charities (http://needhamgolfclub.com)) or the Blinded Veterans Association (bva.org), honoring two important parts of John's life: his love of golf and was fortunate to gain access to many special vision devices through the VA for his poor eyesight.
