Virginia Long Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Virginia Long of Needham, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 22, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Virginia farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Virginia is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Newcomb and Anna Newcomb (Bartoshevich); and her husband Richard A. Long. She is survived by: her children, Melissa Fryar (Norman) of Bellingham and Michael Pagano of Oxford; and her siblings, Patty Harris (Bob) of Claremont, NH, David Newcomb (Kathy) of Needham and Paul Newcomb of Needham. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ginny's name to Newton Wellesley Cancer Center 2014 Washington Street, Newton MA 02462, would be appreciated.
