It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Berta Maria Salome Arruda of New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on July 29, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexandre B. Faria and Luz Faria (Reis); her husband Alfonso De Arruda; and her son Carlos Arruda of Georgia. She is survived by: her daughters, Helena Aguiar of New Bedford, Elizabeth Nye (Ronald Nye) of New Bedford and Celina DeArruda of New Bedford; and her grandchildren, Enjoli, Alexander, Sara, Christopher, Jonathan, Cody, Tanya, Amanda, Alfonso, Shawn and Abby.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home & Cremation (129 Allen St, New Bedford, MA 02740). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (230 Bonney St, New Bedford, MA 02744).
