Lawrence P. Sylvia Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lawrence P. Sylvia of New Bedford, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 26, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Alice G. Sylvia (Finch); his parents, Antone P. Sylvia and Stella Sylvia (Buba); and his siblings, Frederick, Normand, Anthony, Arthur Sylvia and Cecelia Briden.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne M. Sylvia (Valiquette) of New Bedford; his son Larry Sylvia (Karen) of Rochester; his grandchildren, Lauren, Evan and Adam; his great grandchildren, Eric and Mark Sylvia; and his stepchildren, Kenneth, Brian, Paul, Jeffrey Pereira, Elaine Carroll and Darlene Pereira. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Fairhaven Funeral Home (117 Main St, Fairhaven, MA 02719). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 8:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Julie Biliart Church (494 Slocum Rd, North Dartmouth, MA 02747).
