He was predeceased by: his parents, Carolino Monteiro and Ernestina Monteiro (Leite); and his siblings, Armindo Gomes and Fulgencio Monteiro. He is survived by: his close friend Carolyn B. Ramos of New Bedford; his stepdaughter Kelly Pereira; his stepgranddaughter Nicole Pereira; his siblings, Domingos Monteiro of Cape Verde, Maria José Monteiro of Ansonia, CT and Albertina Job (late George) of Waterbury, CT; and his sisters-in-law, Maria Ide of Waterbury, CT and Wilma Callaway (Lee) of Sun Prairie, WI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
