With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maria D. Borges (New Bedford, Massachusetts), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 11, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Antonio Pereira of Medeiros Pereira and Maria Pereira (Dos Santos); and her siblings, Manuel Pereira, Aida De Medeiros and Laura Sousa.
She is survived by: her husband Manuel Borges; her children, Eduarda Vital (Joseph) of New Bedford, Rui Borges (Sandra Andrade) of Orlando, Antonio "Tony" Borges of New Bedford and Armando Borges (Kelly) of Dartmouth; her siblings, Altino Pereira (Mariazinha) of São Miguel, Açores, Natalia Pires (Agosto) and Eduarda Almeida of São Miguel; her grandchildren, Bruno Borges, Catia Borges, Dylan Borges, Logan Borges, Jeffrey Borges, Derek Borges, Nyla Borges, Kiah Borges, Sofia Vital and Tiago Vital; and her great grandchildren, Gabriella Borges and Levi Tyler Borges.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home & Cremation (129 Allen St, New Bedford, MA 02740). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (230 Bonney St, New Bedford, MA 02744).
