We are sad to announce that, on November 15, 2025, at the age of 96, Ruth E. Astley of New Bedford, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Ruth has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin A. Johnson and Bertha Johnson (Walmsley); her brother Allen R. Johnson; and her husband Robert "Bob" Astley. She is survived by: her daughter Carol R. Astley Calnan; and her son-in-law James A. Calnan.
