John Joseph Spires Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Joseph Spires of Newburyport, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 15, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Spires Sr. and Katherine (Cunningham). He is survived by: his wife Carlene Spires (LaFrenier); his children, Leah Murnane (Patrick) of Newburyport, MA and John Spires, III; his grandchildren, Quinn, Grace, Ella Murnane, John Spires IV "Jack" and Anna Spires; his pet Retriever; his siblings, Craig Spires (Claire), Kathie Oliver (Bill) and Mark Spires (Karen); his mother-in-law Adele LaFrenier; and his sisters-in-law, Adrienne, Audrey and Elisa. He is also survived by spouses; and his many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of John J. Spires may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in honor of Dr. Sam Klempner to support gastric/esophageal cancer research.
