He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roland and Priscilla; his sons, Bruce, Andrew (Christine), John and Peter (Britta); his wife Susan Stone; his children, Susan and Tanglewood; his sisters, Carol Murdoch and Bridie Luis Fuentes (Pepe); his daughter Laura Utano (Frank); his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Cohen Pratt (David) and Sheryl Cohen (John); and his grandchildren, Christopher Allen, Brooks Macdonald and Allison Macdonald. He was also cherished by three great-grandsons.
