He was predeceased by: his son Eric Schwartz; and his brother Lowell Schwartz. He is survived by: his son Jeff (Lindsey); his daughter-in-law Janet Schwartz; and his grandchildren, Isabel, Maddy, Lanie, Will, Jack, Meg and Tommy.
He served as President of the New England Legal Foundation for eight years and as President of the Martha's Vineyard Hebrew Center from 2001-2003.
