George left this world on May 30, 2025 at the age of 79, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Joseph Annas, Sr. and Margaret Pallansch Annas; his son David; his son-in-law Matt Selig; his wife Mary Roche Annas; his daughter Katie; his granddaughter Anna Margaret Selig; his sisters, Mary Susan Eddy and Ann Blattner; his siblings-in-law, Kenneth Blattner and Patricia Roche (Winnie); his pet Bella; and also Corina Freitas. He was also cherished by his nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.
A wake will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home (465 Centre St, Newton, MA 02458). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (1321 Centre St, Newton Centre, MA 02459). A burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Newton Cemetery (791 Walnut St, Newton Centre, MA 02459).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in George's memory to the Centre Street Food pantry in Newton, the Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, Minnesota or the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts.
