He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Chagnon, Sr. and Clare M. Chagnon (Reilly); and his brother Paul Chagnon (Anne) of Medway. He is survived by: his wife Diana M. Chagnon (Bird); his children, Robert Chagnon, Jr. (Tina Kiely) of Waltham, Brian M. Chagnon (Christine) of Hudson and Karen M. Chagnon of Framingham; his grandchildren, Justina Cucchi-Chagnon, Leah Chagnon, Ryen Chagnon, Jake Chagnon, Lauren Chagnon and Robert Dagostino; his great grandchildren, Shawn Taylor and Layla Cucchi; and his siblings, John J. Chagnon, Jr. (Diane) of West Bridgewater, Jean Terrasi (Tony) of Natick, Carol Paupst (Steve) of Mississippi, Mary Ellen Castro (Mike) of West Newton and Gail Moylan (John) of West Newton. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
