Marie A. Smokovich Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie A. Smokovich (Norfolk, Massachusetts), born in Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 6, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John W. and Mary E. Brabants (Quirk); her husband Matthew John Smokovich of Augustine's Church; her son Matthew John Smokovich, Jr.; and her brothers, John W. Brabants, Jr. (Janet) of Scottsdale and Edmund J. "Buddy" Brabants (Marie) of Norfolk.

She is survived by : her daughter Marie; her sister Betty; her daughter Christine M. Friedman (Jon) of Farmingdale; her grandchildren, Jon Matthew Friedman, Austin James Friedman, Megan Elizabeth Friedman, Noah Thomas Friedman, Aiden Michael Friedman, Taylor Grace Friedman and Amanda Rose Butkewich (David Bahia); and her siblings, Elizabeth P. Kelley (Thomas) of Norfolk, Robert M. Brabants (Cheryl) of Sandwich and Donald P. Brabants (Neiva) of North Easton. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

“My condolences to Marie's Family and friends . I graduated with her from " Southie " High in 1962 and still remember her though we were not real friends . She was one of the cute girls who was always quick with a smile and reeked of class and grace . Godspeed Marie , I'm glad you had such a wonderful life with a loving husband and adoring children . I hope you'll greet me when I hopefully get to where I know you are now ........ your deserved paradise .”
