He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lavariere and Alice Lavariere (Desrosiers); his wife Elaine Danforth Lavariere (Wright); and his close friend Helen Biondo. He is survived by: his stepfather Louis A Roberts; his children, Elizabeth Petri (Bob Fortini) of North Adams, Richard Louis Lavariere (Jayne) of North Adams, Susan Segala (Neil) of Norton, MA and Lisa Xanthos (Marguerite) of Dover, NH; his stepdaughters, Brenda Lee Danforth and Theresa Liebenow of Pittsfield, MA; and his grandchildren, Katie Morey, Maria Segala, Jonathan Demarsico, Allison Zustra, Alex Segala, Gary Lavariere, Jason Bona, Travis Bona and Nick Donati. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
