She was predeceased by: her husband Frederick T. McCarthy; her son Frederick T. McCarthy, Jr.; and her siblings, Richard Sonego of East Boston and Pauline Fiore Ashton of Middleton. She is survived by: her children, Thomas J. McCarthy and Aurelie Alger; and her grandchildren, Michael McCarthy, Sean McCarthy, Colleen Wyrocki, Christopher McCarthy, Michelle Doherty, Michaela McCarthy and Stanley Alger.
She was the Business Manager for the Miss Massachusetts Scholarship Foundation for 10 years, scheduling and organizing the appearances for Miss Massachusetts and acting as local Travel Companion.
