He was predeceased by: his close friend Maryanne Dupont of Londonderry, NH; his brother Wesley Gilbert of Methuen, MA; and his stepson Lee Dupont of Lawrence, MA.. He is survived by: his children, Karen Schmitt (Matthew) of Deerfield, NH and Richard Mazzaglia (Catherine) of Allenstown, NH; his stepson Robert Dupont of Groveland, MA; his sister-in-law Doreen Gilbert of Methuen, MA; and his grandchildren, Madeline Mazzaglia, Christopher and Marcus Schmitt.
