He was predeceased by: his wife Grace Osterhout Beattie; his parents, John Beattie and Marion Beattie; and his sister Barbara Brown. He is survived by: his children, Christopher Beattie of Bennett, CO and Rachael Louko of Burlington, VT; his nephew Douglas Brown of Falmouth, MA; and his cousins, Sandra Dunlap of Reading, MA, Tracey Butterworth of Stoneham, MA, Laurie Ingersoll of Wakefield, MA and Michael Dunlap of Fredericksburg, VA..
