He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur "Skip" Potter and Judith Wallace (Doherty). He is survived by : his former life partner Kathleen Potter (Griffin); his children, Melissa of North Reading, Thomas of North Reading, Jared of North Reading, Mark of North Reading, Sarah of North Reading and Griffin Potter of North Reading; his sister Lori Potter Murray; and his nieces, Elizabeth Potter-Eleftheriou of New Hampshire and Samantha Potter Marotte of New Hampshire. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
