She was predeceased by : her spouse Thomas F. Downey; and her father Walther F. Spencer. She is survived by : her children, Thomas F. Downey (Carol), Mary Ramsay and Anne Cusick (Brian); her brother William F. Spencer (Patricia); her grandchildren, Tim Downey (Melanie), Caryn Vernon (Juan), Kyle Ramsay, Shaun Ramsay, Tom Cusick, Kelly Cusick and Jack Cusick; and her great grandchildren, Ava, William, Eli, Mateo and Elena. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

“Good morning to the Downey family: Kay was lucky to live such a fun life with such a fine family. She certainly lived to be a ripe old independent elder in our society. I always enjoyed having a cocktail with K and her husband and Tom many many years ago in North Weymouth.. She was a gracious host then and through the years after Tom passed Opening her house and his swimming pool in the summer months with. Always a smile and happy to see you. Kay, you lived a fine life!”
