He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard Lawrence and Marguerite Elizabeth Ash (Grady) of North Weymouth; and his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth (Cullen), Walter McLean, Joseph, Celina Cullen, Willie, Leona Cullen, Charlene Cullen, George Cullen and Eugene Cullen.

He is survived by : his wife Alice Teresa Ash (Cullen) of North Weymouth; his children, Thomas Ash (Jane) of Gloucester, Deborah Ash (Charles) of Wellfleet and Brian Ash of Quincy; his sister Dorothy Knoll of North Attleboro; his cousins, Denis Grady, Mary Kelly and Andrew Ash; and his siblings-in-law, Terrance Cullen, Patricia, Jerry DiLillo of Weymouth and Terri Cullen.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home - North (40 Sea St, Weymouth, MA 02191). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 9:45 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Jerome Church (632 Bridge St, Weymouth, MA 02191).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's name may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation (parkinson.org).
