She is survived by: her husband Dr. David Maitland; her children, Jason Maitland (Sarah) of San Diego and Jennifer Hyde (David) of Littleton; her grandchildren, Jameson, Sterling, Mia and Layla; and her brother Robert Talenda (Christine) of Uniontown. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

“I am so sorry for your loss of Gail. We were nursing school colleagues and lived together in New Haven, CT where we started our first positions as RNs at Yale New Haven Hospital. I remember the day she called me at work to say that three envelopes arrived - they were all the same - so we either all passed or failed the Boards - she opened hers first while on the phone and passed. Gail was a terrific person as all of her family and friends know. She was kind and loving.”
