We are sad to announce that on September 3, 2025, at the age of 62, Steven E Poreca of Norwell, Massachusetts, born in Weymouth, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Steven may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Poreca and Rita L. Sullivan (Keefe). He is survived by: his son Steven J. Poreca (Misael Figueroa) of Brockton; his siblings, Sharon L. Poreca of Port Charlotte, FL and John H. Mitchell of Topsfield, MA.; and his stepsiblings, Vernon Harrison, George Harrison, Debbie Leavitt and Tessie Cirignano. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Homes (134 Pleasant St, Weymouth, MA 02190). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steven's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
