He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Russo and Virginia Russo (Crehan); his brother Paul Russo; and also Dorothy A. Kelley (MacKenzie). He is survived by: his daughters, Diane P. (late Michael Halpin) of Brockton and Sheila R. (Christopher Luciano) of Norwood; his siblings, Therese Diecidue of Boston, Susie Sek, Jan Marie Bruno of Duxbury and James Russo of Dorchester; and his grandsons, Blake William and Joseph Anthony Luciano. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
