He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert J. Ritchie and Urith M. Ritchie (Brode). He is survived by: his wife Jane P. Ritchie (Trovato); his children, Julie Lannon, Sean Ritchie (Natasha) of Canada, John Rooney (Marcieli) of Norwood and Christine Lyons (Scott) of Norton; his grandchildren, Tia (Jonathan), Nathan, Lindsey, Koen, Mick, Aidan, Maddie, Gavin, Julia and Angelo; his great grandchildren, Ellie and Mila; and his stepsons, Adam, Ryan and Jeff.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in his memory to "The Cholangiocarcinoma Research Fund in the Medical Oncology Division at BIDMC" 330 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215 to support development of new treatment for patients with cholangiocarcinoma.
