She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Loy Asher and Gesche Asher (Grace); her husband John T. Schuttler; her brother Russell Asher; and her half-siblings, Clarence Asher and Lucile Thierer.
She is survived by: her daughters, Donna Jean McKenzie (William) of El Cajon, CA and Marie Fleming (Bud) of Orange, MA; her grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Gavin, Meredith Marie McKenzie, Jeromey Taylor and Jared Taylor; her great grandchildren, Keleigh Miller, Laurel Miller, Nicholas Osterich, Keely Taylor, Hunter Edwards and Decklan Taylor; her great great grandchild Emberly Miller; and her sister Delores Hart of Indiana.
A funeral service was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Witty's Funeral Home (158 S Main St, Orange, MA 01364). A burial was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 at the South Cemetery (585 S Main St, Orange, MA 01364).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernice's memory should be made to a hospice organization of the donor's choice.
