He is survived by: his brothers, Dennis of Durham and Gregory of Petersham; his close friend Chris Tarris; his sister Charlene DeJackome (Ronald) of Petersham; his cousin Janie (Janice Gross) of Orange; his nephew Jason DeJackome (Jennifer); his great-nephews, Logan and Sam; his great-niece Ava of Petersham; his nephew Adam DeJackome (Tina); his great-nephew Nathan; his great-niece Angelina of Berlin, CT; his niece Aimee Millar (Eric); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Charlie and Reagan of Middeton, NH.; his cousins, Ralph Lundquist and Mike Lundquist (Mary Jo); his caregivers, Gail Stoddard of Orange and Chris Pugliese of Petersham; Miles of Petersham.

“I love all of you, and I will miss coming up to Petersham to see you all. I'm confined to wheelchair and later bedridden. I will call every so often. If I can get up there again, I will but it's a pain with the wheelchair. I will miss coming up to the house and sitting on the deck with my best friend. I can still see his face and hear his snoring. Angie and John Gurwell send our very best to all of your family.”

“My condolences to Gary's family, I will miss him very much. I always had a great time coming up to see the Waid family. My daughter ( Angie) also enjoyed coming up to see the Waid family. We both thought a lot of him and all of your family. The cookouts were great at Charlene's and Ronny's house. I remember all the times we hitch hiked up from Virginia when we were in the Navy together. The boxing match between me (John) and Gary, he said I knocked out one of his teeth. Lots of stories.Miss all”
