Maria A. Amaral Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maria A. Amaral of Osterville, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 11, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose and Maria; and her brothers, John Mello of New Bedford and Joseph Mello of New Bedford. She is survived by: her husband Joseph F. Amaral; her daughters, Debra M. Hellwig of Mashpee and Paulina M. Reilly (David T. Reilly) of Mashpee; her grandchildren, Andrew, Sonia Hellwig of Mashpee, Daniel and Nicholas Reilly of Mashpee; her son-in-law Olgert Hellwig; and her siblings, Angelina Linhares (Frank Linhares) of Mashpee and Adelino Mello (Dino) of New Bedford.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Chapman Funerals & Cremations - John-Lawrence Chapel (3778 Falmouth Rd, Marstons Mills, MA 02648). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Assumption Church (76 Wianno Ave, Osterville, MA 02655). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at the Mosswood Cemetery.
