He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Schaeffer, Sr. and Beverly Schaeffer (Mortland); his brother Thomas G. Schaeffer; and his great grandchild Zachary. He is survived by: his wife Sharon L. Schaeffer (Harris) of Palmer; his children, Diana Henchey (John) of Agawam and Thomas G. Schaeffer (Deborah) of East Longmeadow; his sisters, Martha Schaeffer Feinstein (Paul) of Delray Beach and Anne Schaeffer Newdick (Mark) of Easton, Maryland.; his grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Leanna, Jonathan, Samantha, Anthony, Asia and Savannah; and his great grandchildren, Hadden, Logan and Grayson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's memory to a charity of one's choice.
