He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophie Opolski (Stefanski) and Walter Opolski; his brothers, Edward and Richard Opolski; and his son-in-law Frank Buntin.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Opolski; his children, Diane Gunn (Keith Russell) of Magnolia, TX, Cathleen Buntin of Greenfield, MA, Steven Opolski (Donna Pisciotta) of Ipswich, MA and Christopher Opolski (Alexis Stifler) of Walpole, MA; his stepchildren, Maureen Mahoney (Stephen) of Lynnfield, MA and Christopher Gangi of Essex, MA; his sister Dorothy Jodoin of Salem, MA; his grandchildren, Amanda Koenig (Matthew), Nicholas Opolski, Alex Buntin, Tasha Buntin, Jacob Opolski, Katie Mahoney and Jimmy Mahoney; and his great grandchild Zoey Koenig. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
