It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria I. (Bento) Leite (Peabody, Massachusetts), who passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Jose Medeiros Leite; her parents, Joao Bento and Maria Bento (Porcino); her grandson Silvio; and her siblings, Jose Bento, Gil Bento, Ricardo Bento and Sara Bento.
She is survived by: her children, Sara Melo (Manuel) of Peabody, Maria Leite (Manny Moniz) of Peabody, Luisa Amral (Jose) of Azores, Amanda Duross (David) of Largo, Lina Martinez (Jose Luis) of Peabody and Jose Luis Leite (Celeste) of Peabody; her sister Clementina Morgado of Canada; and her grandchildren, Jose, Sandy, Alcino, Milton, Rui, Leslie, Celso, Diogo, Nicholas, Michael and Kayla. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family.
