He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Raney (Illingworth); his parents, Raymond Raney and Helen Raney (Hennessey); his son Robert R. Raney Jr.; his sister Jean Evans; and his son-in-law Donald Wolff.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Raney (Nancy) and Maryann "Mae" Wolff of Peabody; his grandchildren, Matthew Wolff (Jessica) of Methuen, Meaghan Wolff of Peabody and Kaightie Chambers (Dale) of Derry, NH; his great grandchildren, Autumn, Austin Wolff of Peabody, Zachary, Benjamin Wolff of Methuen, Navlin and Evie Chambers of Derry, NH; and his sister Marilyn Shaw of Lynn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
