He was predeceased by: his sons, Paul Hamman of Barnegat, NJ and William Shaughnessy of Denville, NJ; his sister Lois Beck (Carl); his niece Kathi Beck; his stepmother Olive Waehler; and his parents, Charles Waehler and Mabel Waehler (Nutt).
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Waehler (Failor); his children, Nancy, Jane and Charles Waehler of Lexington, MA; his stepchildren, Jon Aster, Erin Malone of Lexington, MA, Rick Aster, Jan Tarr of Ft. Collins, CO, David and Michelle Aster of Fitchburg, MA; his grandchildren, Shaun Hamman (Heather), Corey Hamman (Karen), Andrei Shaughnessy, Arthur Shaughnessy, Sage Waehler, Michael Aster (Erin Shaughnessey), Meghan Aster, Ellen Aster, Julie Aster, Zachary Aster, Zoe Aster and Oliver Aster; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Brie, Madelyn Hamman, Clarke Cataldo and Henry; and his brother Paul David (Lynn Waehler). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and cousins.
