He was predeceased by : his wife Margaret Ann John (Mercer); and his brother Edward John. He is survived by : his daughters, Peggy Hester (Roy), Elizabeth Martin (David) and Kathy Leotta; his son-in-law Sean Leotta; his grandchildren, Chelsea Hester, Sydney, Jonathan Martin and Michael Leotta; and his niece Nancy.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd (164 Newtown Rd, Acton, MA 01720). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
