It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John F. Nelson (Petersham, Massachusetts), who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Nelson and Edna May Nelson (Granger); his son Justin; his former wife Susan; his stepdaughter Michelle Figueroa; his wife Marie (McKenney); his children, Juliana and James; his stepson Peter Tavernini; his grandchildren, Briana Aguilar, Isabelle, James and Aiden Newcombe; his stepgrandchildren, Charles Lilless and Ruby Lilless; his siblings, Larry, Paul, Rick, Nancy Kilcullen, Kathleen McHugh and Jean Peterson; his aunt Dorie Granger; and his friends, Tom Duane, Drake and Lori Archer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Jo Angelo and Anita Smile; and his grandchildren, Casandra Antonio, Jessica Figueroa, Jake Figueroa, Anais Lieu, Janine LaVoie and Camille LaVoie.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter's Church (18 N Main St, Petersham, MA 01366). A burial will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at the East Street Cemetery East Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations to the San Gorgonio Search and Rescue.
