Florian Ptak Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Florian Ptak of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, born in Bristol, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 13, 2026 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ptak and Catherine Ptak (Huda); his wife Sally Ptak (Kennedy); and his siblings, Edward "Edd" Ptak (Bunni), Genevieve and Joseph "Joe" Ptak.

He is survived by: his daughters, Beth Cantor (Michael) of Pittsfield and Amy Walsh (Jeremy) of Colorado; his significant other Janice Cullen; and his granddaughters, Katherine Walsh, Alison and Ariana Cantor. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and friends.

A fitness enthusiast, he remained active well into later life, including playing for the Berkshire Rugby Football Club into his sixties and hiking daily during the pandemic.
