He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry MacWhinnie and Evelyn Proctor MacWhinnie; his brothers, Harry E. MacWhinnie and Donald MacWhinnie; and his stepson Joseph Carnevale.
He is survived by: his daughter Mya Gonzales of Dalton; his siblings, Richard MacWhinnie of Lee and June Gibbons (Charles); and his stepsons, David Carnevale (Linda), John Carnevale and Richard Carnevale. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that if friends desire, memorial contributions be made to the Phelps Cancer Center or to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
