Maxine Silvano Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Maxine Silvano of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Maxine, born on February 20, 1939 in Bennington, Vermont, passed away on September 20, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maxine Silvano to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Silvano Sr.; her grandson Ryan Silvano; and her siblings, Larry DiCicco and Sally Southard. She is survived by: her children, Richard Silvano Jr. (Paula) of Pittsfield, John Silvano (Brenda) of North Adams, Melanie Silvano of Hinsdale, NH, Susanne Silvano of Pittsfield and Jacqueline Zafer (Muhammad) of Dalton; her grandchildren, Sarah Oduro, Rachel Hanstein, Mitchell Forfa, Richard Silvano III, Caleb Nhim and Thea Frances Nhim; her great grandchildren, Brandon Silvano, Elijah Oduro and Eva Oduro; and her siblings, Karen Wetherall (Chuck) of Pittsfield, Brian Gritman (Vicky) of Pittsfield, Kathy Guertin, Dawn Tiffan of North Adams, Jack Gritman of Pittsfield and John Gritman of Florida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dery Funeral Home (54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:30 AM and at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Maxine may be made payable to "Soldier On" or "Berkshire Humane Society" in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
