We are sad to announce that, on February 15, 2026, at the age of 99, Nellie W. Gaulden of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Goines and Virginia Snead; her husband Richard L. Gaulden; her son Richard L. Gaulden; and her siblings, Doris, Emma, Lawrence, Joseph, Clifford Oliver and Arnold Goines.
She is survived by: her son Lawrence O. Gaulden of Pittsfield; her grandchildren, Monica Kaiser (Paul), Tamnika Gaulden Myia (Millard) and Kenneth Sample (Hahna); and her sister-in-law Pearl Goines. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to St Marks Church or the Women of Color Giving Circle in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
