Saverio Walter Garofano Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Saverio Walter Garofano (Pittsfield, Massachusetts), who passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brothers, Ernest Garofano (Hazel) and Craig Garofano (Jeanne); his brother-in-law Gerald "Chuck" Green; and his parents, Pelligrino "Percy" Garofano and Blanche Lemanski Garofano.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Eileen Green; his children, Derek Garofano and Melissa Garofano; his granddaughters, Carly Rousseau (Brandon) and Mya Desautels; his great grandchild Rowan Rousseau of Pittsfield; his brothers-in-law, James Green (Eileen), Kevin Green (Sergio) and Shaun Green (Susan); and his caregivers, Joan Fields and Alicia Cook. He is also survived by many nieces nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home (5 Elm St, Pittsfield, MA 01201). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (191 Elm St, Pittsfield, MA 01201).
In keeping with his wishes, family requests that in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Pittsfield Family YMCA, Elder Services of Berkshire County or HospiceCare in the Berkshires, Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes will accept them on behalf of the family.
