William D. Travis Obituary

We announce the death of William D. Travis of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 79. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederic O'Neil (Doris Jennings Travis) and Doris Jennings Travis; and his parents-in-law, Augustine and Inez O'Neil. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his sons, Matthew of Blackwood, NJ and Peter (KJ) of Denton, TX; his grandchildren, Maya and Theo; his brother Frederic; his siblings-in-law, Karen Engratt of Waterbury, CT and Stephen O'Neil of Middletown, CT; and his stepsiblings, Elizabeth Green (Vani), Timothy Mantz and Theodore Mantz (Ted).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill's name to St. Stephen's Parish, to 18 Degrees Family Services in Pittsfield, to the Housatonic Valley Association, or to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, all in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01021.
