He was predeceased by: his mothers, Amy Virginia Nelson and Katherine Bumpus (Miner); and his brother Jim Hale (Heidi) of Lynwood, WA.. He is survived by: his wife Judi Gyovai; his siblings, Tom Renshaw (Ann), Mike Hale (Jean), Martha Cassie and Storme O'Keefe of Nashville, TN; and his children, Tom Reed of Doylestown, PA, Heidi Smith, Bourne, Matthew Bumpus (Catherine), Ariadne Hamilton (Travis) of Seattle, WA, Christine Gyovai (Reed) of Charlottesville, VA, Joe Gyovai of Taos, NM and Hannah Gyovai (Alexander). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
