He was predeceased by : his wife Barbara A. Pelchat (Jackson); his parents, Eloi Pelchat and Grace Foster (Barr); and his siblings, Robert Pelchat and Jean Bourgeois.

He is survived by : his children, Barbara Ann Whitman and Donald Pelchat; his significant other Maureen McAvoy; his grandchildren, Melissa Alberg and Alex Alberg; his great grandchild Spencer Alberg; his sister Marlene Witham of Tennessee; and his close friend Lucy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
