We are sad to announce that on May 28, 2025, at the age of 89, Elaine Janet McLaughlin in Plymouth, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Govoni and Ruby Sharples Govoni; her husband Lawrence B. McLaughlin, Jr.; and her sister Fay Thurston. She is survived by: her children, Joseph McLaughlin (Miriam Shadis) of Athens, OH, Kathryn Slater (Brian Wick) of Plympton, MA, Elizabeth McLaughlin of Quincy, MA, Sara McLaughlin and Michael McLaughlin (Caroline Sokol) of Belmont, MA.; her grandchildren, Henry, Emma, Lucas, Patrick, Colin, Leah, Kyla, Neil, Sean, Sam, Owen and Will; her great grandchild Emerson Layne; her brother Stephen Govoni; and her siblings-in-law, Norman, Sandra McLaughlin and Bill Scarbrough. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bartlett Funeral Home (338 Court St, Plymouth, MA 02360). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Saint Peter's Church (86 Court St, Plymouth, MA 02360). A burial will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Pembroke Center Cemetery.
