He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus Detwiler and Estella Detwiler; and his siblings, Robert, Donald, Kenneth, Rollin, John and Lucille Witmer.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Baird Detwiler; his daughters, Julie Flood (Derek) of Abington and Amy Manganaro (Michael) of Foxboro; his grandson Evan Detwiler (Amanda Wasser) of Quincy; and his siblings, Ellis (Caroline), Richard, Lorene Ruby and Janice Ziegler (James). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Wollaston Church of the Nazarene (37 E Elm Ave, Quincy, MA 02170). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prime Timers Ministry at Wollaston Church of the Nazarene, in honor of David's enduring faith and commitment to his church family, or to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, who cared for David so wonderfully.
