He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marian Gates of Quincy; his sons, Christopher Gates of Quincy and Michael Gates (Nicole Raustad) of Boston; and his siblings, Patricia Holmes (Al Mullaney) of Quincy, Cheryl Pasquale (Don) of Abington, Jimmy Gates of Quincy, Deborah Penzo (Richard) of Quincy and Brian Gates (Kelly) of Squantum. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
