James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint James leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Dowd and Margaret Dowd (Behan); his wife Margaret Dowd (Carroll) of Rutland, VT.; and his brother John Dowd of Peabody. He is survived by: his children, Maureen of Maine and Kevin (Kathy Dowd) of Weymouth; his brother Edward Dowd of Braintree; and his caregiver James.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Keohane Funeral Home - Quincy (785 Hancock St, Quincy, MA 02170). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
